Start Downloading today.

Downloading from usenet is more popular than ever leaving Peer to Peer, torrents behind. There are a couple of steps you need to take and get all the files you want

There are a couple of steps before you can download from Usenet.
Step 1: Get access to a newsserver
You have to have access to a newsserver in order to download from binary Usenet newsgroups. A couple providers have their own newsserver but you can also subscribe to a payserver like Giganews or Usenext. Payservers aren't free but are much better speed, retention and more complete files than a News server of an provider.
Step 2: Picking and installing a newsreader.
You need a newsreader in order to download files from binary Usenet newsgroups. This program connects to a newsserver and downloads the files from a binary usenet newsgroup. There are several newsreaders but eventually they do the same. I've made a list of them overview of newsreaders.
Step 3: Finding out what has been posted to binary Usenet newsgroups.
There are thousends of binary Usenet newsgroups. You need to know what has been posted to which Usenet newsgroup? Try The usenet community , on these forums people will announce the file and post them.
Step 4:Get the NZB file for your Newsreader
When you have found the files you want, create an NZB file and open it in you newsreader.search for NZB-File's.
Step 5: Download the Files. With a payserver it should take 1 or 2 Hours(or less) to download a 4.7 GB.
Step 6: Check the files and Extract.
When Downloading is completed the files must be verified if there not damaged. when the are damages more repair files must be downloaded.(most newsreaders do this Automaticly) when the files are repaired the files can be extracted and your file is ready.

What is usenet.

January, 2009

Usenet is one of the oldest computer network communications systems still in widespread use. It was established in 1980, following experiments from the previous year, over a decade before the World Wide Web was introduced and the general public got access to the Internet. It was originally conceived as a "poor man's ARPANET," employing UUCP to offer mail and file transfers, as well as announcements through the newly developed news software. This system, developed at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, was called USENET to emphasize its creators' hope that the USENIX organization would take an active role in its operation (Daniel et al, 1980).
